Every child is unique, yet our classrooms deliver the same experience to all 30 students, despite their diverse needs and learning styles. For children with ADHD, the impact is profound. ADHD learners are driven by interest rather than importance, a key difference often overlooked by traditional teaching methods.
This mismatch can have far-reaching consequences. Research shows that children with ADHD are at a much higher risk of academic failure, which can lead to even more serious challenges later in life — 25% of adults in UK prisons have ADHD, compared to just 3-4% of the wider population.
The problem is clear: the current education system isn't built for children who learn differently. It’s time to change that.
The Solution: Torchlight
Torchlight is here to revolutionise education for children with ADHD. Combining the principles of the Universal Design for Learning with cutting-edge technology, Torchlight offers personalised learning experiences tailored to each child’s unique needs.
Using artificial intelligence, our platform builds an individual learning profile for every student, translating standard curricula into engaging, relevant content that works for them. Torchlight doesn't just focus on academic success — it equips children with essential life skills like organisation, mindfulness, and focus.

Our Story
Nicholas and Daniel, the founders of Prometheus Education Technologies – the social enterprise behind Torchlight – know firsthand what it’s like to grow up in a system that doesn’t understand your needs. Daniel struggled to stay still in class, labeled a “troublemaker,” despite his boundless creativity. Nicholas, often overlooked because of his good grades, faced challenges in staying focused and organised, leading to struggles later in life.
Years later, armed with Nicholas’s commercial and communications skills and Daniel’s expertise in software development, they’re on a mission to create the solution they both needed as children. With the power of AI and their passion for helping kids like them succeed, they created Torchlight to light the way toward a brighter, more inclusive education system.
